Oregon (Douglas Fir)

Its heartwood is a pale pinkish-brown, with the sapwood being quite lighter, almost white.  It is a straight grained softwood which is relatively strong given its light weight.

It has alternating bands of high and low density timber in the annual rings resulting in uneven wear, however this is sometimes made into a feature by sandblasting them to make them stand out prominently.

Sustainability: This wood species is not listed in the CITES Appendices, and is reported by the IUCN as being a species of least concern. Get a Quote
